The Dodge WC51 was a 3/4 ton Light truck was designed in 1942. Models WC51 and WC52 were the same version of the vehicle but the model 52 had the addition of a 2.27 tonnes Braden winch at the front bumper. personal Produced in large numbers (123,541 were built) they were particularly prevalent throughout the Normandy campaign proving particularly suited to muddy roads. The open cab pick-up could be fitted with an M24A1 machine gun mount, which bolted across the front of the truck bed and could carry a Browning Automatic Rifle, M1919 Browning machine gun, or M2 Browning machine gun.
